The process of semantic reduction and augmentation is an important tool in justifying and explaining the formation of meaning in many linguistic structures. In this article, with the help of two phenomena of "signification and semantic transparency and obscurity" that are closely related to semantic reduction and augmentation, limitations are introduced that play an important role in determining a systematic framework for this process. The present study indicates that the scope of this process does not include those simple words that are on the axis of association and in relation to the meaning of adjacent units, but rather operates in complete time. The reduction accompanied by the deletion of a word is a function of this process from the axis of associativity. The semantic reduction and increase does not work clearly in the case of non-simple words, and its full manifestation can be seen in obscure non-simple words and proverbs of the Persian language.
